You guys have walked me through getting my '70 340 Dart on the road and I am close and gratefull to all.
Working on the side marker lights, I have power to the socket where the bulb goes in, but when I stick the bulb in, I get no light. I Bought 6 packages of bulbs from advance Auto thinking it may the bulb, but none work.
According to the wiring diagram, It indicates a grounding symbol at the end of the wire run where the marker light bulb is. I thought maybe the assembly needed to be totally installed for the bulb to ground using the cover that screws in fron the inside of the fenders. I stll get nothing
what am I missing here or not doing correctly.
Any help is, as always, appreciated.

Mike

You aren't getting a ground. How many wires going to the socket?

One wire. It's a new harness from Year One

Somehow, you have a bad ground at the housing and/or the socket

Scrape the metal socket-housing against the bumper bracket and see if it will light, sounds like a bad ground....

does the metal bulb socket ground to the pot metal housing, that grounds to the inside the fender cover that protects the assembly from road debis?
I'll try your suggestions tomorrow and let you know. The old wiring harness has one wire going to the marker light also.

You need metal to metal contract for a ground so be sure there is no paint or any other foreign substance between the socket and bare metal. Including the housing and fender.

Thanks, I'll make sure it's touching cleanly and see what happens

I just took a jumper wire and grounded the socket to a bolt in the truck and it lit right up.

Next, The heater blower motor doesn't come on either. I will check the grounds on that also

thanks again, wouldn't be able to do this without you guys

Mike
