Chrome and the parts were stainless... if its pitting its the chrome part.

Chrome plating on potmetal base (aluminum/Zinc) the vertical window guide is stainless, the lower vent channel is potmetal, as are the locking handles,...be prepared for sicker shock to have them chromed, the set for my 70 Charger costs $600 for the pair, and they were in very good shape with minimal pits, the more pits, the higher the price, as it's all hand work to fill the pits individually before plating,...Mike Ross at BEAParts.com is test fitting some reproduction B bodie vent window chrome A frames currently, might want to check with him regarding price/application/time frame for availability

Yours must be pretty rough if you can't even tell if they are chrome or not! You might want to look foe some better cores?

Its not that they are that rough of shape really just was not 100% sure. I guess as most parts they would either be stainless or chromed. Just wasn't sure if they could be re-chromed? (not ever having sent anything in to be chromed before), and just wanted a little direct on where to start with them. I have them off for paint so I'm trying to come up with a plan of attack
