As it says, considering a Performer RPM intake on my 440 and wondering if the stock throttle cable/linkage will work as I know it's a tall intake. Holly carb...

Thanks!!!

Worth trying but not likley. I'm running an M1 single plane and needed a longer cable. It took two tries to find one that fit and worked smoothly. A Lokar from Mancini did the trick.

We have the stock cable on my sons Dart. It is a low block (400) and uses the Performer RPM. And the stock cable is working fine. Ron

What year and body stlye was the car and what motor did it have in it originally with the throttle cable your wanting to use? If it was a four barrel or six cylinder car it will probally work okay, if it was a V8 two barrel car, regardless of motor size, it probally won't Try what you got first

On my '67 Satellite I swapped from a stock 318 2 barrel to a 440 with the Performer RPM intake. I tried ordering a new cable for a 440 car for it and that didn't work.

So I ended up using the cable from the 318 2 barrel and that's what I got to work. I did end up using the tall throttle cable bracket like Ron's son has on his Dart.

My car still uses the stock 2-bbl throttle cable, and bracket with an RPM and 830 double pumper. I did, however, have to do some welding work to make this happen. I extended the ht. of the bracket about an inch (shown @ A), and extended the length of the kickdown rod a little, along with putting a bend in the rod to mate up to the stock location pin that the rod sits on (shown @ B).

(Pic worth 1000 words......)

Mancini sells a taller bracket by AR Engineering that allows you to stay with the stock cable. I run it and it works great.

If anything you'll need to lift the purch from the factory height so it lines up with the throttle better, more or less a straight line, That adj bracket that was listed works great, but you also need to use the chrysler throttle bracket thats made for the holley or eddy if you don't already have this, I have never had to install a new cable "ever", they have a long enough throw, you just need to get it lined up & closer to its reach so it all works well & there will be plenty of throw for WOT.

Use a /6 cable. It is the answer for one size fits all.

That kit from Mancini looks like the cats ***!!! Think I'll order that and see if my stock cable is long enough. If not will look at the slant 6 or Lokar.
Thanks everyone for the responses!!!

Hughes Engines has the same throttle bracket kits as Mancini. Hughes might be closer to you.

The 318 cable will be the longest. The 440 cable is fairly short, and the HEMI is the shortest of all. A 440 six pak cable is a little longer, but not as the 318 (either will work for your app.).

Just general info on stuff I ran into over the years.

I remember a while back someone posted the various mopar throttle cables and their lengths with part numbers that you could buy new. Anyone have this info I lost it.
Thanks!
