For all you A-body guys out there, I wish I would have kept this car. I started the restoration and Scott is about done with it! He has done a fantastic job finishing the car and now I have seen my vision come to a reality. I love how the custom made 14 x 7 steelies on the back fill the wheel well while keeping an aggressive stance....

Yes, Scott has taken his time to make the GTS as nice as possible. He's really a hands on guy and pays close attention to detail.

Hi Paul, looks good. That is one I should have finished I wanted to just no time. It is a real rare Calif. 1 owner car when I bought it. 340 4 Speed. A/C. All matching numbers. It had the build sheet. It has the rare factory traction bars. An Awesome set up. It Would be easy to duplicate. Stripe delete. I love the A bodies.

I know you know your stuff Dean, but factory traction bars? No such thing. Maybe over the counter pieces I have never heard of, lets see a pic.

I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave

The only one's that can provide the info are Paul (Stewpar) or Current owner. I am not a Novice or a dreamer. It was on the build sheet also If I recall it was typed at the bottom. I did take some pics 10 or twelve years ago.I would have to find them. I sold it to Stewpar a long time ago. It was all factory. This car was an all original unrestored California Black Plate Survivor. It was bought off the Original owner. The car was parked in 1973 or 4. The gas crunch made him park it. The owner had put a 318 Two Barrel intake and carb to save gas and still he said it was too much to drive. I think it had 53,000 or 63,000 original miles. It was a 340 GTS 4 speed with Air Cond. He worked for the Telephone co. California. It was bought thru their Credit Union as he took a loan to get it. He ordered the car. I have never seen them before either and I have had some very rare A, B , and E Bodies. It had a shock plate with an original Shock stud coming out to the side in front of the shackle bolts. It had a 7/8 ths or 1 inch bar that had a slight upper bend going to a plate with another Shock stud to the front of the spring. The bar had two shock eyelets welded to it. A rubber bushing just like a stock bottom shock with a washer and bolt. It would be Very simple to reproduce. It is a cool and rare car.

So it is a factory LA (E code) built car? Is there a box on the broadcast sheet that has a number that relates to the part or just written on the bottom of the sheet? Pics and broadcast info REQUIRED!

I know Scott, the owner of this car. In fact, I transported it for him when he bought it. I'll try to get in touch with him to see what's up.

It was too long ago for my memory. I think but not for sure that it was built in B Hamtramck and shipped to LA. It was typed in not written. That is all I remember. i AM LOOKING FOR A SCANNED COPY.

I had a close up picture of the bar before the car was taken apart for resto, it should be in the book that I gave to Scott. I also remember something on the BS related to special suspension. There was an article in one of the mags back in the day about the car/traction bar. I have them tucked away somewhere around here, now just to find them

Hi Paul, Yes I do. I regret selling that one now. Thanks for chiming in for me. That is a priceless pic then and now. I know you guys do not believe me yet but they are cool and I wish I had duplicated those traction bars. Anybody into A bodies as much as I have been since 74' would love to have a set of those.

Just took a look at my original and later printing 1971 parts book and there is nothing listed, at least not under suspension parts. After beating my old noggin on the wall for a couple hours I do remember something about traction helpers or something like that, but those brain cells are pretty much toast. What is the SPD of the car?
