I am looking at purchasing a steel timing cover from 440 source, I have a choice between a fixed timing pointer for $6 or the adjustable for $40 from 440 source. Which one should I purchase for my BB? Thanks

is it possible for you to post some pics. You can remark the dampener but it's nice to just reference the OE mark especially with a dial back. If the adjustable one ain't a rube goldberg flimsy deal I'd consider it and you do wanna find exact TDC to start with

Nothing flimsy about the adj one in the 2nd pic but that is alot of money. I'd prob get the fixed one & find exact TDC & paint a new white line if need be then spring for the adj one later if I was not happy with it. You can make additional white marks using the tab as a ruler and if you dont have a dialback, 2 marks for initial and total will suffice
