Maybe someone can get me pointed in the right direction. 97 dakota 5.2 auto, All gauges do not work as well as the radio and dome lights. overhead console has power but everything is reset and doesnt record anything. The trans will not shift when put in drive but doesnt slip. You can shift manually and works but takes off in second and will not go into overdrive. Has to be electrical, replaced govenor pressure sensor and the one next to it inside the tranny and no difference, also put a used gauge cluster in and guages went to the right and still dont work. Any ideas?

If it were me I would start with a wiring diagram, it sounds like you have multiple problems that may be rooted in the same cause. Look for common grounds shared by the circuits that are malfunctioning, then look for rubbed wires, etc. Then you can narrow it down to components. Good luck!

I usually aproach those problems by following one complete circuit, what ever one looks simplest. Like was mentioned it is probably a bad ground and traceing one circuit all the way from the neg terminal of the battery back to the positive terminal, when you find the problem with one you offten fix all the circuits.
