Does anyone know if the entire wheel was painted black before the silver was sprayed on the face?

I didnt check mine before sending out to the blaster.

yes-all black (factory)and then the argent over the top that oversprays in the rear of the wheel. you will find the argent covers better and looks more correct over the black as opposed to painting over a grey primer. when the wheels were installed the red of the face of the brake drum could stick to the rear face of the wheel. attached pic of a 440-6 71 with red drums.

I had some red paint on two of my wheels( I figure originally the rears since its a disk brake car) one of them actually had drips of red paint.
