This really hurts.
I really don’t know why…Gary and I never really corresponded, but I felt like I knew him from his posts and his unapologetic shift from the bowtie to the pentastar. Dammit man…I’m gonna miss you.
My feelings exactly! My deepest sympathies to Gary's family and friends. We lost a good one. RIP Gary

The guy always gave straight up advice and was always offering to help others for nothing, truely a great loss for all of people he knew and helped. Donation will be sent.

This is truly a tragic loss. A donations jar and guest book will be at the Moparts tent this weekend in Englishtown.

My God, I heard about this on the news this morning and only occured to me now that it was a west bloomfield cop. My heart hurts and there are tears in my eyes....truely in shock at this great loss. Gary was a great man who always had a smile and something positive to say to you.

My prayers are with his family. It's terrible to hear, and it makes me angry when I hear that there are no apparent skid marks and they don't think the driver of the other car made any attempt to slow down.
I was hoping to meet more michigan moparts members this summer, as I will (hopefully) have more time to attend shows and events, and I was looking forward to meeting him. I'll miss his posts.

Like many others, I only knew him from Moparts. From his posts and conversing in PM's I got the impression that he was a real stand up guy. My heartfelt prayers go out to his family and friends.
God rest his soul...

Moparts may in its most basic form be a message board to talk about mopars, but it has grown to be at least to me the embodyment of the Mopar hobby. In the old days, we knew the names Ronnie Sox, and Larry Shepherd and etc. from the magazines, and they were the ones that had the pulling power. They were the ones we read about and thought it would be cool to meet someday and B.S. with. Moparts has pushed those old names by the wayside and introduced a new group of names of people who are as one person noted, the new "heavy hitters." Some are known for what they know about mopars, others for thier character. Gary Davis was known for both.
Even though I never met Gary in person, I feel I know him through his many many posts here. In the old days if I heard a racing great passed away, I would be sad, and feel that the world lost a great racer. When I read that we lost Gary, it downright hurt.
Gary, you and your family will be in our prayers. Rest in Peace.

I think like another posted, Gary never had a bad thing to say about anyone that I can recall from his postings here. That says a lot about someone's character.
I have PM and emailed Gary many times, and he always ended with" if you need anything just ask". I am sure his family, his community and moparts will miss him dearly. My condolences to his family and friends.
