Any plans for edelbrock or someone on these heads? Is porting stock heads the only option at this point?

I haven't heard anything yet. but the 3Gen hemi's are a great head to start from. Anything that would be a improvment would be a race head only.

From the 5.7 eagle head to the 6.4 Apache head I been seeing flow numbers from 280-300+cfm in a stock head with porting even more so.

And they are super cheap on top of that the after market would be very hard press IMO to top the stock head IMO

Exactly....it's not necessary at this point, as most engines aren't even making the most of the stock head.

I'm considering a turbo with a modern hemi in a 71 cuda race car. Not sure ported will be enough. I'm thinking I need to talk to someone who has done this. 3200 pound car to run 8.50

Can the block and other 3G Hemi stuff out there take the HP and TQ to go 8.50's with 3200 lbs?

I see LS engines get close need a mopar to show them up. Very risky on the block but some hard block should help.

build a nascar motor from left over parts----one of my friends started buying out date nascar stuff on racejunk.com? he now has one race car running and 1 1/2 motors waiting to build---the heads have bigger ports than his 426 hemi blower motor---in fact one set of heads he bought didnt pass inspection because the ports were too big--he got them for $300----then he turned around and bought left over titanium valves for $1 each----he did buy new rods because he wanted to drop the compression to run on pump gas---all the parts come from race teams and they even noted what race they ran and how many miles----he spent about $10,000 building the motor but said that was what he put into his previous 400 stroker and 15 years prior spent about the same on the 426 hemi---bob

How much power are you going for the 3rd Gen Hemi have made 700HP NA. The LS engine have there limits must don't uses stock blocks they use the LSX block the stock ALum block can't handle much power the the LQ "stock Iron truck block" has its limits too. We do have a Alum. block out for the 3rd gen hemi if the stock block can't handle your goals and the new apache head is a great head and guys are just starting to dig into it.

when the 5.7 came out, David Vizard did a big article on them, and with minor bowl blending, he got low to mid lift flows better than a SB2 NASCAR head, with max flow at about 300CFM...with the stock 1.9 valve. now toss the 6.1, 5.7 Eagle, and 6.4 Apache head in the mix, and you have a factory casting installed in vehicles that OOTB are approaching W7,8& 9 as cast flow capacity, or bettering max ported W2's, W5's and Indy small block heads....

THe apache head is the stock head that comes on the 6.4L hemi it has the biggest valves and flows the must so far for the new hemi.
