I reused what I had last year to save some coin.

A 282S 236@50 .495 Comp Cams solid.

448 stroker
KB280's with quench domes milled flat
OOTB Eddy 84cc closed chambered heads
1.6 ratio rockers
Performer RPM 383
4 hole spacer
850DP
1 3/4 headers 3 inch exhaust
3.91's
11 inch TC

Ran a best of 7.43 in the 1/8th with a lame top end.

am thinking about a MP .528 to go with the 1.6's
wondering if the .557 is too much.

I drive 100 miles to the drags.

Thats a very mild cam. Do you want to run a roller or flat tappet. I had Dwayne Porter custom grind a flat tappet cam for my 493 and I really like it. It is 264 and 270 @ .050 with .634 lift using Hughes 1.6 rockers. 110 LSA that I put in on a 106 centerline. It really idles great to me. Just enough rump rump and makes tons of power. It is just what I asked for. I would consider giving him a call as every car I see with his cams run great. Ron

Forgot to tell you I ran the MP .557 in my old .030 over 440. It had 906 heads I ported and I used the Holley Street Dominator intake with and 850 DP and 1-3/4 headers. My 63 weighs just over 3700 with me in it and it ran a best of 11.49 @ 116 in the 1/4 and 7.28 @ 93 mph in the 1/8 with the .557 cam. Ron

Lunati Voodoo cam p/n 60303 or p/n 60304 with Rhoads lifters p/n 2018. hyd flat tappet.

just my 2 cents

60303
•Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 268/276
•Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 226/234
•Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .494/.513
•LSA/ICL: 110/106
•Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
•RPM Range: 1800-6200

60304
•Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 276/284
•Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 234/242
•Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .513/.533
•LSA/ICL: 110/106
•Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
•RPM Range: 2200-6400

Orginal Rhoads Lifters reduce lift and duration at idle by approximately .010" to .020". Duration is reduced by approximately 10 to 15 degrees. Total lift and duration are restored at approximately 3500 rpm. Typical vacuum increases range between 1 to 3 inches.

The .557 is a MP piece, I ran the XE284H & the comp .282 solid in my 451 lowdeck, the heads were mild ported 906s & pulled off 10.8 @ 123 at 3200 race weight with a sucky 1.63 60ft in the heat. This was with the .282 solid & a TR & 2 600 1850s, I ran a best of 10.91 on a 1.51 60ft. with the XE284H & MI single & 750dp in mine shaft air. I had the solid ground custom from comp, we settled on making it a 529/543 on a 108, Dur. @50 was .250/.256, That .282 over the counter is 520/540.

I've heard the .557 is a good cam also, you can go with a custom grind.

I'd use the 528 if this is more of a street car,but if it's a 50/50 street and strip ride use the 557.

Depending on your goals, the one you have sounds pretty good. What gains are you looking for?

Faster ET's.

It pulls like a demon to about 5000 and then is a little underwhelming to 6200 where I usually shift.

I guess i figured that I might as well use the lift and flow the Eddys have.

As long as I can drive it to the track is all I am concerned about streetwise.

It feels like there is more in the combo up top.
40 squirters, pink/brown cams, 81 jets.

Thats a very mild cam. Do you want to run a roller or flat tappet.

Want to stick with the solid; I like lashing the valves.

I think the cam you have is about right for your 11 inch TC. Now if you were going with more converter, you could step it up some.

If your looking for more ET i'd go with a larger cam & more stall. BB mopars "love" big cams, don't skimp in that area, they like to breath, especially with better then stock heads.

I've talked to Dynamic and am looking at their 9.5" 3500 stall.

This will happen with a minor scuff of the head to get 11:1.
