My 12 year old Ultraflows are finally starting to rust out. Back then these were one of the better flowing mufflers. Anyone know of a better flowing (and lighter) muffler available today? I was ok with the sound and performance...just wondering if there's anything better.

I was told Ultra-Flows are still one of the best mufflers performance wise. I use them and they are straight thru so I figure they must be pretty good. Ron

My Brand X had Flowmasters on it, then I switched to Hooker Aerochambers. It's a lot quieter and no performance loss. Even the offset in/out ones are a straight through design.

I love my borla stainless steel XR-1 race mufflers. They sound great, have a lifetime waranty, and very nice construction too They flow way better than any other chokemaster or chambered style muffler

If I really had it my way id have bullets on my car since they sound awesome and flow better than anything...but driving two hours to the track each way at 3000rpms would probably make me deaf in about one trip lol

Thanks for all the replies. I did find this test done in a Mustang magazine back in 2009. It does show how close most performance mufflers perform.
