In an attempt to do the work myself and learn. How hard is this task to do? I got a rear window leak that has just developed and I want to have a look at the rear window channel to make sure there is no rust issues there. Also, I can't remember but, I think I need the trim tool to remove the rear window trim correct? I know the trim is rivoted at the corners which it shouldn't be. Thank you in advance.

If you can get the trim off, it is really not that bad at all.

If you are removing the window it helps to have one of those tools or a something to streip out the channel. I was able to do mine in about 2 hours.

Has this glass been in the car a while or original?

It's pretty simple. You'll want one of these to make the job easier: Ebay Glass Removal Tool
