This one is a MONTH old. The float is STUCK at mid tube. Tapping it on the ground won't free it up. Summit replaced it N/C, but I can't get these things to work long at all.

"Sending unit is compatible with many GM fuel level gauges, verify gauge resistance range. Measures 11 in. long.."

wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I have the same type sender that I added to my aluminum fab'd tank in the Torana...it does not work well at all either really...does not seem to be enough spots it reads levels from, and just can't get it to be accurate.
I am going to be be changing it out for a normal style swinging arm type one.

Oh, and they do the Summit ones in different resistances...
