Been a while since I took this apart and my service manual is for a 72. Question is, I know there is a bolt that goes through the lower hole of the bracket but it seems the ball stud is too small to hold the bracket down. Should there be a washer on the ball stud to hold the bracket down at that spot? I don't recall there being one and there was not one in my ball stud bag.

Thanks, Joe

Small or Big block? Either way the ballstud screws into the bellhousing, its not part of a bracket. No washer under the ballstud either. Are you asking about the pivot bracket for the column lock linkage?

340 4spd. Yes, the lockout bracket as you are looking at it has one bolt that holds it on the lower left. Then you have a hole that the ball stud goes through but it is larger than the balls stud. So, I wasn't sure if the one bolt is all that holds it in place or if there should be a washer between the ball stud and the bracket.

BTW, I sent in an order on your website and have not heard back yet. I need the 2 bushings for the lockout shaft.

Thanks, Joe

No washer .. the play that exists helps to get good alignment on the reverse lockout shaft.
