Congratulations Dave!
So, I guess the mall is no longer safe for women, children and chevys?

I have been following your thread Dave. You are a model of patience in a car build. With beyond great resullts.
Very happy for you! I'm sure it was a great feeling firing it up at last!

Thanks for the kind words, old goat! I don't know if its lots of patience that I have, or that I just enjoy the designing and building process that makes it appear that I have lots of patience!

Believe it or not, it took me the entire weekend to install the center console. I wired up two of the four switches. One is for the manual over-ride of the thermostatically controlled engine cooling fan, and the other is the same thing except its for the trans cooler fan.
I have to wait on installing the seats and safety belts, because I first have to fabricate floor mounts for the lap belts. The seats and belts will be installed by Wednesday. Next weekend, I'll prime and paint the new fuse panel access door.

The interior is ALL DONE! Well, except for painting the fuse panel access door. I want to add a dry chemical fire extinguisher, too.

The PSC remote power steering reservoir came in today. Looks like the best place to mount it is just behind the driver's side headlight. I'll fab a mounting bracket that will pick up two of the radiator mounting bolts.
I'm going to mount the fire extinguisher on the floor, alongside the driver's seat. The first set of clamps I bought for it were a little too big. I've got a pair of smaller clamps on the way.

Installation of the PSC reservoir is pretty much done. I made a mounting bracket, put together a -12AN drainback hose, and did the reservoir can swap on the power steering pump. The only thing left is to buy a 45 degree hose end fitting tomorrow, and install it on the return hose coming from the hydroboost.

After 3-1/2 years of this Jeep-building juggernaut, it is appropriate at this time to borrow a line from that one-hit-wonder rock group, Europe: IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN !!!

Here is what I have left to do on the Jeep, to make it drivable.

1. REAR AXLE:
a: Set the pinion angle on the rear axle
b: Tack weld spring perches and lower shock mounts
c: Get rear axle out, finish weld and paint it
d: Install rear axle

2. Make brake lines that go from frame rail to master cylinder

3. Fill & bleed power steering/hydroboost system

4. Bleed brake lines. Instead of the usual two man brake bleeding operation, for this project I decided to purchase a Motive Products Power Bleeder.

Just play it on a continuous loop in the shop and you should be able to get all that stuff done pretty quickly.

That, and a few lines of coke, and I'll have it on the road in 24 hours!!
