That "rubber" gasket isn't black silicone is it?
When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..

I purchased the trans to transfer case gasket. If I have time this weekend, I'll drop the t-case and install it. Meanwhile, I've been forging ahead with the stereo system install. I mounted the amplifiers to the floor, which required fabbing up some mounting brackets. I also made a mounting bracket for the front passenger side speaker. I plan to make the mounting bracket for the driver side front speaker tomorrow. I built speaker boxes for the rear 6x9's. They will be sprayed with black Monstaliner this week. The front enclosures will also get the Monsta treatment. The new hydroboost unit showed up yesterday.

The stereo system installation is 100% DONE. I haven't turned it on yet, because I've been going non-stop all day, and I needed a break. I will test it out later on today, but for now, I thought I'd post a few pics of the install, the speakers in particular. The speaker enclosures, and how to mount them, took the most time, effort and creativity. The front passenger side speaker was a real challenge, because of the lack of room. The drivers side had much more room to work with, so I incorporated features in the mount to allow for swiveling and rotating of the speaker enclosure. Both front speakers are tucked in as much as possible, for maximum foot room.

I turned on the stereo system for the first time tonight. Sounds GREAT!! I was running it off of the battery charger, so I didn't try to turn it up super loud, but I'm happy with the sound quality. It will perform even better when it's hooked up to the battery.

OK, with the installation of the gasket between the trans and the t-case out of the way, I can get back on schedule with the installation of the interior and ..........wait for it.................. starting the engine!!! I'm aiming for next weekend for the big start up.

Zero hour is fast approaching. I'm in the process of installing the dash, which is the last thing on the list before I can turn the key and (hopefully) hear this stroker smallblock Mopar come back to life again.

Well guys, no excalibur today. My distributor is a piece of junk. Dan had problems with it at the dyno session, and it is giving me problems now. We tested the MSD box and coil, and they are working as they should. I've ordered another, better quality distributor, an MSD Pro Billet distrubutor. should be here in a few days. When it arrives, I'll stab it in, and try again.

THE ENGINE RUNS!!! One of the wires for ignition power was on the wrong terminal on the back of the ignition switch. Once this was fixed, the engine started right up.
