Absolutely awesome!

Dan I cant say enough about your involvement in this thread.

Looks like you assembled it in your office.

Careful, your character's showing!

In a sense, i did. I do use the assembly room as my office too, although that part of the room is just a small desk, computer, printer, etc. It works out good because as the engine assembly process moves along i can sit down and transfer my hand written notes regarding specs, clearances, etc. etc. right into the computer without having to leave the room. basically every footstep you save also saves time and money.
I have a Large home office to take care of the rest of the shop business, (i.e.) payables, receivables, and so on.

Even though i don't really have as much time as i'd like to get involved in these types of threads, i do enjoy it when time permits. Maybe in some way it will help someone else in some small way, who knows.

The T-Bird electric fan came in today. I laid it on the radiator the conventional way (top side up), and saw how much it covered the side tanks, along with one of the hose tubes. For kicks, I rotated the fan assembly 90º, and BAM!!, it instantly became an absolutely perfect fit between the side tanks. I'm going to mount it like that, but first, I need to shorten the now bottom portion of the shroud as much as possible, and then close it off and seal it. Better to have the hacked side on the bottom where it won't be noticeable. Of course, the four useless mounting ears will need to go, too.

I had an enjoyable day today. The 390 engine was dyno'd at Eddie (Elvis) Miller's Engine Works shop. Tuning was handled by Dan at Performance Only. For now, I'll say that the engine ran great and sounded great. I'll post pictures and some video tomorrow.

After the first pull, Dan and Eddie review the data.

Since this is a street engine designed to be daily driver friendly, all dyno pulls were made on 87 octane gas. After about 10 pulls, the final data was achieved.
I want to thank my friend, and my engine builder/tuner, Dan Costello at Performance Only for the excellent job he did on the machine work, the building, the tuning, and the advice and guidance all the way through. Put me in the growing list of satisfied Performance Only customers!

Dave,
Thanks for kind words. I think given the parameters of the build, we got exactly what we wanted when all said and done. Obviosly we weren't building a racing engine, just a nice reliable street combo with good manners and plenty of power for the application. By the numbers this is a nice, efficient combo that should do very well over the long haul. I noticed there wasn't a single drop of anything in the pan under the engine and that's always a good thing too. I hate oil leaks.
It was a good time overall hanging out with friends and so on. What more could anyone ask for.
I expect nmy hearing to return to normal any day now. For some reason i don't think it was the engine that caused that problem.
Looking forward to any other pictures or videos you want to post.

Dan, I couldn't have done it without you!!
So now, you may as well change your company name from Performance Only to Fuse Blowers Only.

I like the sounds of "Fusion Technologies" better.
Ole Elvis double clutched the auto test button and that's all she wrote.
