I usually have decent luck bleeding brakes with my cars, but I'm in a spot with this one. 1974 Duster 360 with power brakes and no engine. I'd like to have the brakes as functional as posssible to move the car around. I bought the car with drum brakes on the front, as the previous owner had started to part it out. I swapped over the discs to return the car to the factory arrangement and have had some trouble getting the brakes bled. I had a car years back that failed to start after I replaced calipers. It also had power brakes. I bled them without the engine running. Once it finally started, the pedal sunk to the floor and I had to REbleed them.
Are there ANY tips to bleed the brakes without vacuum? I suppose that if there are none, I could rig up a steel line and a hose to the carburetor of another car and park close, letting the donor supply vacuum to the Duster.....Any ideas?
