are they good? I like the twin disc setup... thinking i may have to splurge and get it.

i called mcleod today and got a reccomendation from "billy" and a place to buy it in minnisota at a great price. Called them and their price was higher than summit, even though he said it was 20% off... they wanted about 400 more for the same mcleod parts!

ive been doing some research, seems i will need a twin disc if i want to race it, and street it. and my original 300$ budget is way out the window.

I was looking at both that one and the RST Twin disc from McLeod for my dad's Silver State car - a '95 Firebird, gutted, 3000#, 2.50 rear gears, 2.64 low gear and a high winding Chevy 427. This incarnation of the engine only made 630HP at 7300, but a new set of heads and a jump in compression will be in order for the next round and we should be tipping 725+ HP.

...anyway, I went with the McLeod and I'll tell you, the thing is a piece of ART. Absolutely beautiful. I got the 800HP rated RST instead of the 1000HP rated RXT so I would get the organic material rather than the ceramic. I really don't want any clutch chatter when we have to get those steep gears rolling from a stop. The only reason I went McLeod rather than Science friction was reputation. Like you, I haven't heard much about the S.F.'s yet and McLeod has been around for many decades. I think I paid about $675 for the kit and got Summit's house brand (made in USA, SFI rated, billet steel) flywheel for another $189. The flywheel ended up being made by a company called G-Force.

I have had them recommended when I was searching clutches for the 408/A833 for the Valiant.....and have heard nothing but great things on other forums.....I actually called them and spoke to a guy named Grey who is very kwolegeable.....pricey but worth it IMO for a high HP combination

I ended up with a McLeod dual friction setup for my combo due to it being a much milder street setup.
