Ok so I finally got the car down the track and all seems good. I have wanted to do a few things but would like real world numbers on what they are worth..
1. Caltracs
2. uping from 1 3/4 headers to 2"
3. Port matching the intake (off season task)
4. MSD

Thanks.

The only one of those listed I'd bother doing is the Cal-Tracs.
If you have a decent good working ignition system now, the MSD probably won't help much, if at all. Unless you're just after some more features.
Port matching the intake most likely won't help at all...unless you're WAY WAYYY off now.
W/ your combo and the heavy weight of your car, I'd be surprised if the 2" headers helped much.

What 60 ft. times does it run now, and what is the current trans and rear suspension? I really don't like Caltracs or add on to the leaf spring traction devices Why not step on up to a set of ladder bars and decent coil overs and get it done right Lose some unsprung weight and gain some traction BTW, you may want to look at your fuel system or converter lock up ratio or both ET is good but the MPH seems a little slow to me

from what i've read about your track outing i'd wait for cooler weather and then see how the car performs. right now the only power adder, in my opinion, is larger headers.

1. Caltracs --> Maybe .05 in 60-ft, depending upon how close you are now
2. uping from 1 3/4 headers to 2" --> 20 HP
3. Port matching the intake (off season task) --> Nothing, unless it's currently obstructing a LOT of port area
4. MSD --> Nothing, unless your current ignition is not working properly

Car has a 1.60 sixty so far. I haven't run it at 100% yet. I wanted to wait until I got the new axles in. Then I'll load the convert up a little more and shift it at 66-6800. Fuel system should be ok, convert is a Turbo Action 3800. I don't really want to the ladder bar route if possible. This is mostly a street car that I race once/twice a month.

118 mph is good for a 11.23 according to wallace racing calculator. It also says you should have a 1.58 60ft so your really not that far off for as few passes as you have, I'd just run it some more before making any changes.

.030 11.2:1 440, small solid roller cam (254/260-582/588) 1st time out (a few months ago)I came out soft and shifted at 6100 and it ran 11.93 @ 114 on back to back runs. 1st run last weekend I came out harder and shifted at 6400 hit 2nd a tad early at 6200ish and ran 11.45 @ 117.8 then I loaded the convert some shifted at 6400 both times and ran 11.38 @ 118.23. I was going to try 6600 on the next run but had to get home. The cam card has an operating range of 3500-6600

The 118 at 11.23 is in line for the power its putting
out... the converter is most likely your hold back
but its a street car and alot of guys dont like to
go with the higher stall

your changing 2 things at one time and not sure what is making the difference in the time slip. what was the difference in 60ft on those 3 passes?

1st 3 passes (11.93)leaving easy had 1.70 60 foot. 1st run (11.45)last week had a 1.61 left at about 1600, 2nd run brought it up on the convert 2200ish and cut a 1.60. I also took 2nd a tad higher and netted a 11.39 run.

well then sounds like a converter would be the place to spend money
