Well here is my first post on this site (I could not find a "Welcome" wagon thread)t I have owned it since 78. JS27V0B1004XX. Its one of the "promo" or "show" cars Chrysler made on day one production. Still in its original paint. Bought it in Calif in 78.

Welcome to the site. Your Challenger would be a great car to restore.

01 Special Handling Car, SPD 802 with original rear sway bar.
Was rear sway bar available so early day?

It was not.. The fact there is a cruise control thats also been added shows the car has seen some added options...

According to this add, the 1970 Promo cars were all built alike, although I can't really confirm this:


"Only a few examples were built, one for each sales district. Each was equipped as this one, 440 SIX PACK. 4spd pistol Grip, 4:10 Dana Super Track Pack with every other available option installed at the factory"

Great car. I remember seeing it at Mopars at Englishtown back in the mid-eigthies. I wanted it then and still do. Good luck with it.
