wenet to T&T tonight to break in the new trans. Stepped it up some 1st run was 11.45 @ 117.6 nobody said anything so I took drove it a little harder to a 11.39! Not bad for a stock stroke 440-6. Drove it to the track (26 miles) and home. Wanted to do a run as the sun set but had to get back home. My hall pass had expired. Still more in it.

Not bad , is this the first time you went out and didn't come home on the hook ?

Those sippy straw headers aren't helping .

Go to a 3.91 gear, the low end of the 440-6 motor will pull it and make it more streetable.

Good runs!! 10.99-98's are right there, within reach. Just gotta "massage" the cars' setup a bit more. VERY strong 440-6, to push a 2-ton vehicle that fast!!

the car has 3.91's now. I was thinking 4.10's might help but I really like the 3.91's since I drive this car on the street.

It's a .030 over 440 w/ ross pistons, h-beam rods, stock crank, ported Stage VI heads, comp cams solid roller cam 580/588, stock MP 6-pack, 1 3/4 headers, 3800 Turbo action, Turbo Action Rev Man valve body, Performace Automatic street/strip trans and 3.91's on 275/60/15 Hoosier drag radials.
I think if I came out a little harder and took it up in thr rpms a little higher in the cool night air it would have easily been in the 11.20's.
Nicec onsidering this thing has been nothing but problems the last 2 years...

I think you have a good running combo. I wouldn't bother going to 4:10s..Don't think you would gain much. A little more converter may get you your goal!
