How is it best set up? I am sourcing parts for a friends B1 build and wondering if we are going to be able, or if we should even bother with setting up his engine to pushrod oil.
I haven't organised roller lifters as yet, he has the T&D early common shaft rocker system and a World Block. We are both small block guys and first timers with this Big Block stuff.

Thanks in Advance!

I bought the Comp lifters from Brian at Indio motor machine. They have the oil feed hole 90 degrees to the oil passage, which restricts flow the right amount. Pushrod oiling is the best way to go. Positive flow to the most vital parts. You may need to leave the shaft oiling in place, possibly restricted. Call T&D to see what to do there.

I used the common shaft B1 stuff for several builds, and it works fine. The pushrod oiling is better, but if you have the common shaft system, I would use that unless you have the dough to buy a whole new system, but the World block is set up for either. PS Pushrod length is of paramount importance.

I have got one side of my 383 set up for oiling like this. The machine shop put the cam bearing in wrong. I have a couple of lifters that take a little while to stop clicking but after that they are fine -comp. lifters. I was thinking of just getting 2 new lifters to put in it. I will tear the motor down later just trying to use it a while like this, so what do you all think? Ronnie

Comp Cams lifter # 892C-1 and link bar # 829-L.

You have to buy each piece individually. Comp doesn't offer these as a kit.

You can also go with offsets if you want but I stuck with the centered lifters. My engine builder believes there's too much side loading on the lifter bore with the offset lifters.

If he has the aluminum race block with oil holes in the lifter bores that's more than half the battle.

It's easy to plug the shaft oiling holes in the World block.

I did lose a few PSI oil pressure when I switched to the T&D individual shaft - pushrod oil setup.

Crane 66550-16 or 99550-16 is one of the best roller lifters with PR oiling. Tim

Thanks for the replies. I have contacted T&D via email and will wait on their reply before doing anything else. We were looking at Isky, Bullet or CamFX roller lifters. My friend just wants it to be reliable and will spend a little extra on certain parts if need be.

I have a set of comp lifters with very little use listed under the race parts section. Could save you some $$.

I agree with you GREGSDART on that . I have a 572 world block and INDY 440-1 heads with T&D rockers & comp lifters and push rod oiling with smaller oil lines to the heads BRAD & me built the motor and it oils perfect and BRAD knows motors.

He has had some issues with Comp Roller lifters in the past and is a little reluctant to use them. I will have a look and mention it to him though.

Thanks
