If your glass is still in I would not install it. I just did one for a club member he did all the prep and put it all back together. It took me about 2.5 hours. I would have charged him $250 but he paid me with a new golf bag.

I find these types questions amusing ..
Will the OP print this out and take it to the shop he chooses saying well look here , this guy only paid 125 bucks 7 years ago X thousands of miles away from here , you surely can't want XXX to do it now ...
In my 40+ years of 'playing' with Mopars , I have never had to approach an Upholstery shop to install a Vinyl top. I honestly didn't know if it was 'couple hundred' or a thousand? I'm trying to figure my budget for paint / body & factoring in about how much this part of the restoration costs helps me with other segments. The cost is what it is , I just was hoping for some idea. Not looking for a bargain.........

Well, Obviously, I wouldnt expect to pay this now... and I certainly had no expectation that anyone would print this out and go to a shop expecting to get the same price... That's not even remotely reasonable..
All it is, is a price for a similar task at a different point in time...it's a point of reference only...
Knowing what I know, having been there and done it. If I were to go out and get this job done again (today) I think a reasonable starting point would be double that... As a starting point only....
Now, does that mean I'm going to find a jobber who will do it for $250 (rolling shell, vinyl top supplied?) NO... That price would just be own internal point of reference for comparing estimates... that's all...
If I read the opening ad right, I think that's really all this guy was asking for... Yes? No?

It's funny you say that, I just came from the trim shop yesterday inquiring about a headliner and top installation. I asked him if he wanted the car with or without the windows installed and he told me it didn't matter. Didn't ask for a price. Doesn't matter, I need it done and he just finished recovering my seats and the price was good. Dave
