Heads are everything. I had a well prepared set of Arringtons. Flowed around 345. The engine was only 441 CID and ran very well and even better with some juice.
Built the CFE W8 engine with the same stroke and more bore with the R3 block. First hit same tuneup in the nitrous the car hit the wheelie bars so hard you could clearly see daylight under the tires. Anyone who knows 4-links knows needed to take bite out to accomodate all the extra power. We fought through the weekend trying to tame the beast. Later went to a fogger and starting using timing to calm the car down. The biggest thing I see in the CFE W8 is you have to realize the exhaust valve is only 1.55 so you really need some extra duration to take the benefit of the huge flowing intake.

Also, which will make more power? Kind of curious on the differences between the two engines.
Because of the better programs available and extra material in the head, the W8 seeems to be the power champ for the "straight" heads.
The P5 head is the overall king of the smallblock.
