the only thing im worried about is pinion angle and will the u bolts be under any added stress that they will snap. Thanks

If they are the factory bolts that kinda flatten out in the area around the axle tube, with a 4 speed I'd replace them with the ones that keep the same dia all the way around, like those in the pic. As someone mentioned earlier though, you definately need to box in the back half of the perch especially on a 4 speed car or you WILL bend them. My Dad's car had this happen and it is only an 11 sec auto trans car.
Here is how mine were.

Thanks for all the great info everyone. I just talked to travis at calvert and they want to send me different springs just to keep it in the center.

I have the same exact set-up on a 1969 Roadrunner. I put the spring purch in the front hole and drilled out the front hole on the caltrac lower bar holder/shock mount. I have the super stock spring hangers as well. Everything works great. I have a combo that has 525RWHP/500LBS TQ with a Richmond 5 speed and launch the car at 5500rpm. Wheels up and movin' out!
