I used some old Direct Connection frame connectors on my 71. They are regtangular, like 1 1/2" X 2.00" or so. Very easy to put in with no floor cutting. They made a huge difference and are plenty stiff. You don't need 2 X 3" tubing, even 2 X 2" is overkill for a street car. IMO. Yes you can make your own very easy. Daytona turbo, please make your picture smaller so we don't have to scroll back and forth.

much to the chagrin of everyone here i got the MagnumForce double tube style ones. Bolt on each end and to the floors.
getting the same ones for my charger. Figued it was asmall block car, but didn't want to cut up a clean floor. Great thing is you can bolt it in or weld, makes it pretty easy decision for the builder to decide.

FULLY insert into the front and rear OEM stubs and cut into and through the floor and weld everywhere ..
OR don't bother....
Maybe for a race car,for a street car? Come on!! I did mine much like Challenger1. Used 1 1/2x 2 1/2 slid over the rear stub and welded front and rear. Never touched the floor pan. Made an entirely new car!!! Easiest and cheapest($40.00) mod I've done!

Hey DUMBbell ... try-it yourself.
You need to UPgrade your knowledge ...
I have done it myself, more than once. Like I said there is a huge difference between my cars that I do drive all the time. One has connectors and one doesn't. I can tell by driving them and jacking them up.
How many have you installed and driven???
I did the 3X2 through the floor on a 71 back in the early 80s, it was no better than the 71 I have now in the pictures above. It's a waste unless your gonna do roll bars for the track.
What have you done??

I have many times! My simple cheap little connectors took care of 90% at least. Read the OP,he's looking for something simple.....Challenger1 and I gave him some options, you told him don't bother unless you hack the floor up

This statement is simply WRONG. Any chassis guy will tell you that. The pic that DT posted above is the CORRECT way of doing-it.
And other than that NON-competitive dragster you had ....I have done more work on cars in my life than you will ever THINK of doing.
WHY do you continue to step-in-it and have to eat your own words ?
U R nothing but a look-at-me SAD Sack

I know some connectors are pretty detailed with the custom fitting ridges, etc, but I'm just looking for some bolt-on or weld on straight square connectors. Anybody sell these fairly inexpensively?
Also, has anyone made their own????
Doc,what part of this question don't you get????
