First i would like to send my condolence to the gentleman that passed away friday nite at the track(from a heat stroke from what i heard)Jeff Johnson seems to be a man of his word, other promoters would of changed the pay outs but he didn,t,So i tip my hat off to him,The unsung people were the track workers, their the ones that had to stand and work in that brutle heat(while i was sitting in the truck with the air on,or hogging bondo bob,s big fan that he had running)The pig roast and food was awesome,i,d like to thank bondo bob for keeping a eye on the bird friday nite for me(i was afraid when i got back to the track that bondo bob was going to stick a small block in the bird)(lol),bondo bob is super cool,to my friends scott and brad you 2 are the reason that we showed up,i always have a blast hanging out with you guys, you guys are good people,i felt like i was a rock star, free food,water,sodas,2 bottles of jack daniels(u guys trying to kill me?)To the lady with the short hair that was cooking the food,Very nice lady,i had to take the food off my plate that she keep putting on,had to laugh when she said we like are men fat...I believe the car counts were low cause of the heat, jj can not control the weather and i can,t control who or who not shows up,but i can say this,if scott and brad ask me to show up at a event i will be there,oh and scott the front of your car looked good in my side door mirrow(lol)you know i,m just kidding or am i?(ya,i am)i,m just glad my 3rd stage came on(inside joke)..and to the bird haters have a good sunday afternoon..Cause i,m heading out to the birds nest and drinking some of that free jack daniels i got this weekend,So to jj,the track owner and workers,to the racers and fans i thank you all,now its time for a cold one.... (whats a guy gotta do to get a jack daniels Graemlins?

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

sounds like you had fun, and that's all that matters.

I think to have a successful race in this crazy heat you have to run it in the evening/night. If the track has lights why not start at 4 or 5 pm and race into the night?

Of course that wouldn't have helped last night since it stormed around 9:30.

I would think that a lot of cars remained in the garage this weekend...

Old Yeller, thanks for the kinds words. People like you are the reason we do this.

Our original plan was to race well into the night, but it was so hot that anyone who wasn't camping headed back to their hotels asap. We had a choice to carve the hog and drink beer, or spend several hundred $ per hour for ambulance, lighting, track crew, etc. to only race a handful of cars that stayed late. The choice was obvious. I think next time we'll open at noon so folks don't get fried as quickly.

Anyway, you guys are awesome. It's good to be back, but I am a little sore when I sit down.
