No issues with Best Machine, Chuck and Pete have been very fair to work with. I would try and sort it out with them before going live with a issue, I would think they would try and help make things right Dave Dudek knows his stuff,,,love the FAST class races...

They built a 488 inch FAST type Hemi for a very good friend of mine for his super track pack 69 Hemi Road Runner. I always thought the car was down on power, so I had Mr. Dudek take a look at it. He dynoed it, made 417 HP at the wheels, which is not bad, but no where near the 600 Crank HP as predicted by Best. Dave tears down the engine, and finds 7 lifters puked out the lifter clips, and they were just sitting in the lifter valley. The car has 230 miles on it. Why build an engine with subpar valve single comp 911 springs and standard lifters on a hemi?
We are going to a solid like the factory built them with good springs. I look to drive the car at the fall Martin FAST event after Dave Dudek does his magic. Anybody else have issue with the boys from Best?
......what did they say when your friend called them on it???
We have been dealing with Best Machine since we built the first 440 for the Duster in 2003. We have had a few different combinations since, including a 493 and 526 wedge and ALL have been powerful, reliable and consistent! I would NEVER hesitate to recommend Best Machine to anyone.

I don't see how it's Best fault who wanted the cam and lifters? Who adjusted them? Who over revved it? I’ve herd nothing but good things about them I’d kill your post before it gets out of hand.

They machined a Indy maxx block for me, but they didnt go back and champfer the sharp edge in the bottom of the bores. I was a little aggravated, when you pay $1200 to have a block bored, honed and decked.. it should be ready... I called them, told them the problem. it wasnt feasible to ship the block to correct it, I wasnt about to take the block back up there on a 600+ mile round trip.. My local guy showed me, and fixed on my dime.. I'm glad it was caught it would have destroyed my $1000 custom pistons.. Bottom line is stuff happens, and humans make errors. IMO sounds more like a parts issue, than a building mistake.

must be a friday motor?
OUCH! hopefully they make it right; that sucks. heard both good and bad about that place/people. its a shame when you don't get what you pay for when paying good money for a service. i think it happens with most builders at some point. good luck getting it back together and running without problems and more wasted money & time.

Haahahaha
It's not offensive, it's just the puss away of doing things. Did they over rev the motor? Can those lifters fall apart with the push rods installed? Who started, tuned and maintained the engine. It's easy for us to assume, but we really don't know 1/1000th of the truth, and one of the better engine shops around gets a public kick square in the jimmy over something that has their name on it from who knows how long ago.
What wrong with being happy anyway?
