There is plenty of meat to make a 4500 carb fit but it might look a little funky because the runners come all the way into the plenum. It would end up looking like the 440-3 intake where the runners are under the throttle bores. It might work fine but it looks odd.

Zippy, what do you think the four posts are for? Air pan mounts or EFI mounts? Or something else?

The Grand State of Confusion-O...
I just purchased one of the P4876129 M1 intake for Stage VI MW heads on my Keith Black tall deck block. I am really liking how it lowers the carb to give me more room to the top of the scoop. My car a very VERY low hood line and I need all the help I can get when it comes to clearances in certain areas, even WITH a scoop.....
It is also kinda nice in that I will not need a valley pan for this setup.

Seems reasonable. Any idea if there was ever a fuel rail designed for these intakes or was this just a still born idea? I don't recall MP ever developing any fuel rails for big blocks.

If I worked for MP I'd probably suggest that they start drilling some intakes to match the Edelbrock fuel rails. MP is already reselling some Edelbrock products, so maybe just add the Edelbrock fuel rail to that program. If the intakes came drilled and tapped for the injectors and the Eddy fuel rail then it would be a lot easier for guys to install EFI on their big blocks.

For reference see Edelbrock part #3640 (fuel rails) and part #29545 (Victor 440 intake with EFI bungs pre-drilled)

What's the difference between your intake and this P4532757? I bought this one for my standard port Stage 6's with MW windows a couple years ago, looks similar.(I can't find my Mopar catalog...)

I like the idea of off the shelf Edelbrock fuel rails too.

From the pics it looks like the 337 might have more real estate for injector machining than the Victor intake has? Maybe it could work? Think of the possibilities....fuel injected Max Wedge crate motor anyone?

Being that yours is stage 6 on an RB, you've got the extra-wide (stage 6 rb only) intake.

I don't have my chart handy and didn't check to see if the number you gave was a casting number or a part number/box number......but FWIW the 337 intake is standard RB width.

As far as I know Mopar never marketed it as such, but it should have been OK (or pretty darn close) for a B block with stage 6 MW heads....but the double valley tray probably would have entered the picture in that configuration, so that's probably why Mopar never tried to sell it for that setup.

I am pretty sure at the time it was released, repro iron MW heads had hit/were about to hit the market, and (understandably) it was mainly marketed as a single 4bbl for that configuration on an RB block. Should be bolt-on for that configuration with no valley tray issues etc.

The 337 is no-go go for RB with stage 6 unless a guy wanted to run the spacers AND a double valley tray....which could be interesting....double the chances for both oil and vacuum leaks...not exactly an ideal setup

Andy, could you put a straight edge across the carb. flange over to the valve cover and measure the carb. flange height in relation to the top of the valve covers since I'm using the EZ heads with those valve covers I could tell how much I have to play with.

Looks like the carb pad is about 0.700 higher than the top rib on the valve covers.

I measured the 337 intake against the Edelbrock EFI intake and the 337 could easily be machined for the Edelbrock fuel rails. It would be a very easy operation and then Mopar Performance would have a new line of parts to sell.

I also looked at an Indy 440-2 and once again it would also be an easy intake to retrofit with the Edelbrock fuel rails. Looks to me like someone with a vertical CNC could start a little business machining intakes to accept the Edelbrock fuel rail.

Zippy,

Spy shot of the new crate motor? World block, Victor heads, and 337 intake. Just need to design some spacer blocks for the valley rails on each end. Make them about 1.250 tall by 0.500 wide and they should work fine.

Here is a quick mockup of the valley rail spacer block. These are easy to fabricate, just some bar stock cut at an angle and then drill for 3 flathead screws. Put some RTV on the ends and it should work just fine.

OK here it is! Sorry it took so long

It's a 4.150 crank, 4.500 bore...

But there is no part number for it yet
