Randy I run a stock 950 hp, last time our in 90 degree weather, i had 84 in the back no pv and 76 in the front, that was with open headers and 18" collector extensions. Car was nearly 2/10 off my best but still managed over 128 mph, also with the new tubular control arms it was hitting the tyres a lot harder making it spin. On the chassis dyno last year it liked 76 front and back with pv's and full exhaust but ran pb with 2 sizes up. Mick

Hi Randy, Nice meeting you out at Ubly Sat. Denise spent the day getting comfortable with her RR, which was the whole point of the trip. It had been nearly 10 years since her last run down the track, plus we wanted to be sure I remembered to tighten all the bolts! once we were convinced, and she got comfortable, she did great, the times, not so much. Time to start tuning. Best of the day was 14.42 @ 93. Should be able to tune about a second out of it, plus get some more with better air. This motor was never planned to be permanent, just kept it to get her in the groove of racing again. Will spend the rest of this year playing, then put something a little faster in it over the winter. Hope to see you out there again! Brent

No. We'll be up the first week in August. A few years ago we came up about this time of year. Had to get off at Telegraph as they were working on I-75. It was about midnight when we hit Taylor, I believe, and there was a really big cruise going on. Guys cruisin with slicks, burnouts going on regularly, people lining the street partying, for miles, most parking lots full of cars and people. My kids have never seen anything like it and thought it was cool. We've done the MtClemens thing a few years ago, but it was nothing like the Taylor thing

The Demon is set up w/ 1.425" sleeves in their "825" config, although BG stated back when the Gold Claws were released originally that this configuration flowed 980 cfm @ 1.5" (standard 4-bbl rating pressure). I picked it up from a board vendor a couple of years ago as a "race ready" low-use piece, which turned out to have been a bit effed up and required some parts to be sent back to BG to be fixed. Since Randy wasn't sure what type of carb he wanted to run w/ his GTX, I offered to let him test w/ it. I'd set it up for the expected conditions based on his input and IIRC the only thing he changed was going from .035 to .040 squirter size. Randy - I never asked you if the Bigs "950" is an original Holley 80496 tuned by Bigs (1.375" venturi) or one of the carbs they sell w/ the Proform "950" main body that has a 1.450" venturi. Do you know?
