Thanks,Teddy! Despite the heat,I had a BLAST! ALWAYS good to get some seat time in the ole' car! I won't run again until it cools off...75* or cooler! I don't take the heat and humidity like I use to! Maybe just another getting older deal! Take care..and GOOD LUCK with the heat this week-end!

Thanks,Dom! Like I stated, couldn't get 2 carbs to run any closer than those did! As far as the X running so cool...I run a 7-blade aluminum clutch fan,3-core aluminum radiator, and good ole' Water Wetter! I swear by that stuff! Been using it with great results for years!

Not trying to break stones, but without trying to maximize fuel and timing for each carb, I don't see where anything was learned.

Steff...no offense taken, but I wasn't going to get that specific with the jetting on a 90 degree day. My timing is set at 38* total...where it makes the most power..and still starts easily. Something actually was learned...that BOTH carbs worked well,at the track..and on the street! Brad had no idea if his Demon was even going to work, since he had to make more than one repair on it,after purchasing it used. Now,at least he knows it'll be serviceable on his Challenger, when it's back together and running! BTW...met your friend Brent, and his girlfriend/wife..Denise? Real nice couple! Wonder what her best time of the day was with their '69' RoadRunner? Maybe he'll chime in if he reads this!

Hi,Tex! According to Brad, the BG was sleeved to flow 980cfm. It has the Blue sleeves installed. Randy

Randy,
so would you say the BG was bigger/flowed more than the Holley ?
just trying to correlate it to my experiences re finding where the motor simply cannot use more air/bigger carb

Tex,I believe both carbs flowed around 970-980cfm,from information given to me by both Russ, and Brad. I think my heads are the limiting factor using bigger carbs. If..and when I get the Eddy's ported, they can utilize the bigger air flow, and produce more power, and MPH!

So what about on the street Randy, I'm still looking to make a move from the MD-850 and it's wonderful idle qualities....

That's what you used to run right?

Doug...don't remind me! I know all about MD-850's...and DIRTY PLUGS! I'd go with a 950HP! Idles clean..very responsive off-idle qualities..and make good mid-range,and top end power! Works for me!

Glad you got out and had some fun.

I think the carb is actually 870 cfm. It has the 1.375 venturi.

Hard to believe that it would want that much jet.

Hi,Russ! 115 to 117mph on that 80 to 84 jet change! I'm surprised it picked up with that big of a jet increase...in that heat and humidity! Plugs looked real good,as well! Who knows..maybe if I jetted the secondaries as well, maybe it would have gone faster?!! I won't be back out to the track until it cools off to at least 75 degrees. I hate racing in this hot, muggy stuff! But...gotta admit,it was a BLAST to run the old car down the track again!

I stand corrected on the Holley's air flow! According to the owner,Russ Dudek,it flows 870 cfm! Sorry for the wrong numbers,Tex!

thanks Randy.
just shows what your motor wants, similar to my experience
my 440 needed more than a ultra hp950,loves my bg 825(bigger),didn't gain with a prosystems hp1000 based carb(biggest).
my heads and cam are the restriction.cam will change - not the heads
can't / won't step up to the 10.0's - too many extra regs and rules
you have a great looking GTX
