what jobs or mods have you made on the crank beside the main journals cut to the 400 size.

counter weights shaved down so you don't have to clearance the block.

You have to measure the counterweights on the crank to know how much to remove .

Had my counter weights shaved 0.250" for a 400 block. It all internally balanced with KB hypereutectics and 440 rods. The crank is forged.

I wrote up all of this information years ago. Do a websearch for "451 Mopar" or look at my website at www.arengineering.com and you'll find the info on building a 451.

forgot you stated that on the manifesto

"diameter of 7.250"... so, no matter how much needs to remove, needs to cut to that diameter.

whats the actual average diameter on stock 440 cranks ?
