well after i let the car sit for 3 years..i finally got it done. just in time for the pittsburgh mopar race. i knew that the car would prolly go faster than 11.50s...so i had to slow it down due to no roll bar/cage. so i threw 110 lbs of weight in the car and disconnected the secondaries on the carb. first pass was 11.74. i was happy as heck! second pass was 11.64 and it stay right around there the rest of the day. well at the end of the day...my buddy got me a time pass...hooked up the secondaries...ditched the weight...launched at 3000 instead of 2000 and shifted at 6800 instead of 6000. the dang thing went 10.83 @ 122 mph! i couldnt believe it!

so heres a run down of the car.
70 duster-3300ish lbs.
360 small block cast crank
k1 rods with flat top srp pistons-11.5-1 comp.
ported eddy heads flowing 270 with harland sharps
racer brown 520 solid cam...forget the duration off hand
victor 340 intake-750 apd alky carb
904 trans and a 4500 stall 8 inch converter
4.30 pro gear with a 28 tall tire
3 inch exhaust into magnaflow straight thru mufflers dumping at the rear end

realistically the car is still a street car...just have to finish wiring the stock harness for lights and what not. now all i need to do is get a cage in the dang thing haha

Just put a 6 point in it... thats good to 10.0

Of course it did. It's got a Racer Brown cam! Be carefull w/ overrevving, the same thing that makes that cam run hard will help it to self destruct. (Agressive lobes) I believe max recomended rpm is around 6500. What rocker ratio(int & exh) you run w/that?

I'd suggest selling the 8 point and using the fuds to do subframes and a custom fitted bar that will allow seating and pass for 10 point ohs.

haha chuck...that red eye was a -.004 thanks for the compliments...it was breaking up a little on that pass so i know theres more in it. its a stock cast crank motor..rocker ratio is 1.5 i believe on both ex and intake. i have a set of 1.6 ratios to try on the intakes tho. my plan is to sell the 10 point and go chromoly 12 point...leaving everything stock. i hate gutted out race cars lol so the back seat will be staying. why lose weight to go faster when all you have to do is build a good combination small block! future plans for the car is a 9 inch...leaving the caltracs tho cause it 60 footed a 1.46 on the 10 pass. tubular front end also...maybe a bondo bob piece! the car is on alcohol with an aeromotive a2000 pump and aeromotive regulator. hopefully i can get this thing in the winners cirlce being my only win came outta a chevy! lol any other questions..ill be more than happy to answer!
