i'm not a 'guru' but i've had the same thing for about 15 years. double check your wires and the fuse. there is also a trouble shoot page on MSD's web site. these boxes, once they are working are fairly trouble-free. do have have a ballast resistor in line? if so, bypass it as it's not necessary. here's a link - http://www.msdignition.com/troubleshooting.aspx

sorry, i knew that would happen. the unit itself doesn't have a fuse. i meant what ever line you have it tied into. you should also disable the tach and shift light while you troubleshoot.

The unit has a fuse inside it that is not user servicable.

did it get soaked when you were 'playing around' with it? is it possible to go back to a post-MSD state(original configuration) and try it?

No, it is a sealed unit. Time to send it to MSD. They usually fix them for $15 or less.

i put a meter across the terminals to ground on my coil which is a blaster 3,they both had .006 ohms of resistance, does that sound correct?

here are the first things i would check (or have a mechanic checked). number one is to make sure the msd box is fed around 12 volts on the big red wire (all wires mentionned are those coming out of the msd box). check with a test ligth or voltmeter. next make sure the box is grounded on the big black wire. also the small red wire should receive voltage when you start the engine or if the key is in the `run` position. if everything checks fine, with the key in the run position, touch a good ground with the white wire , it should spark each time this wire touches ground. my best bet is you dont receive voltage on the small red wire, which would mean a bad ballast resistor ,if you are using one. as has been said you could jump both sides of the ballast resistor and see if it works.

fully legal sounds the same as full illegal...

it's got 12 volts on the small red wire,(ignition on),i think i'm just gonna put the stock box back on and throw the msd in the trash, this is ignition #2,besides the 440 only makes around 450 hp,i figure the stock box will work fine anyhow, thanks everybody
