I would like to take all the ac stuff off my '79 Aspen,is there a water pump pulley that is for a non ac application? Also would I need a brace from the upper alt bolt to water pump correct?Sorry,it's a 318
Thanx

you will need the pulley set from a non a/c engine..crank and wp

you will also need the non a/c alt brackets

you can remove the a/c comp and put the brackets back on,then run a belt from the crank to the alt bypassing the a/c comp

you can remove the triangle piece thats on the neck of wp and run 2 belts right off the crank to the wp.

just cut and file flat, both belts will fit...or just use the front groove only.

you can leave all the a/c stuff in place and just run the belts from crank to alt also.

if you go to non a/c pulleys, you should step the wp up to the 8 vane wp to keep the ratio and pump flow correct,IMHO

IIRC a ps belt or one close to that size fits from crank to alt to bypass it.
