Anybody heard of a 1963-1964 413 having a head casting of 2406518-3?As far as i can tell that casting is for a 426 max wedge. But the max wedge heads had a 1.88 exhaust valve and these have a 1.60.Also these are a closed chamber if it helps. Not sure what exactly what these's heads are.

This comes up about once a year. If I remember correctly the 518 will not have a soft plug in the end of the head, but of course has those giant ports.

I never seen a max wedge head in person.I figured it wasnt, the ports looked normal size to me.They should of used a better looking 6 to stamp them.

It's not stamped, it's cast in. A stamped number starts with a machined area and then the number is stamped in with number or letter stamps. Cast in means the number is actually part of the mold and liquid metal runs into the mold (for the whole head) and when the mold is taken off the number is "magically" there.
And yes, they could have taken more time with the 6s and 8s, but remember that car manufacturers make cars to be driven, not to have numbers analyzed. It's the same with Corvettes, they were made to drive, not to restore and collect.

I was just having a brain fart when i wrote stamped,i wrote casted eariler, lol.I guess that would be true about the #s,nobody would of thought back then that the cars would be collectable and looked at so closely for the part #S.
