It as all new every thing. New rockers in the right spots with new hold down bars. All new motor mounts. I think there is a couple of the lifters just not working right. I'm going to check with the vac. unhooked and replace the 2 lifters and see if that maybe will fix it. The clattering when it does it sounds just like some bad gas but it isn't, it has fresh gas in it. Ronnie

You do realize that you can change the lifters without pulling the intake manifold?

And I thought most of you guys were as old as I am....obviously not. Here's how it's done and trust me I done it a bizillion times.

Remove the rocker and push rods assembly from the heads. Take a telescoping round magnet down thru the push rod holes in the head and pick up the old lifter, pulling it up thru the same area, obviously. You install the new lifter the same way. Works every time providing you aren't using alum. heads with small push rod holes.

they make a lifter removal tool also,it has a pull trigger to spred the end to catch the lip/plunger retainer to lift the lifter out and install it the same way.

kinda like the 3 finger picker upper flex tool

dont know about being old,but i know how its done
