That was a typo.
A-body 8 3/4" rearends with 5 x 4 1/2" conversion axles are 1 5/8" narrower than '65-'67 B-body rears (total width).
'65-'67 B-body rearends are 3/4" narrower than '68-'70 B-body rears (total width).
that is correct. Hey, it the weekend. Even cass needs a day to relax his brain abit.

I think MuuMuu has a Dart that he is trying to fit this axle into. The wheel arches are lower than the Duster/Demon/Dart Sport cars. I have a 67 Dart with a '68 Coronet 8 3/4 axle. I used 15x8 widened rally wheels with 5 7/8 backspace. I was able to fit in a 255 60 tire without rubbing. THAT tire really filled up the wheelwell!
Thanks Frakenduster. You're right! I am just trying to learn more and plan my car out before I buy or do anything with it.

I run a B-rear in my A-Bodie and there is no worries. I played with the off set and its awesome. alot cheaper. the problem I had was I could only get dutchman axles at the time so I went with them, most cost effective. I think now randy's sells a set of universal that can be cut to length if you want. my next move will be a Moser modular. wanna buy a complete b-body set up??
Thank you Kiddart

We got one out of a '73 Satellite for my Duster and had Moser shorten it. Cost around $250 but that was back in 2002. C-bodies are a good source for 8 3/4's.
People want stupid prices for original A-body ones, I've seen 'em for $500 just for the housing.
Yup, I found an A body complete on CL in the Detroit area for 1200.00. Needless to say I put a B body rear in built with suregrip and 3.55's for under 600.00 for everything. All I did was move the perches in and bolt it up. Works great.

Heck yeah, dude! I plan out all sorts of car stuff before I turn a wrench. I often even make notes and keep them with me during the build!
That's the smartest thing you can do. You will be suprised how many people will just go and buy parts without researching or bringing notes.
Hey, show up to the mopar alley show early and well see if we can score you something on the cheap.
