3M general purpose adhesive remover.

The stuff is great.

Sorry I have to disaggree with you. 2 nights ago I removed this sound insulation from a truck. There was a lot of foam and adhesive stuck to the firewall. I started with 3M, have used it many times before on smaller projects and I think is just OK. I guess it's safe on painted surfaces but it don't work near as well as lacquer thinner. I sprayed the 3m stuff about 6 times trying to get it to soften the adhesive but was slow to react. I finally broke out the lacquer thinner and soaked my rag with it and it did a much better job. It was way faster and didn't harm the paint on the firewall. It made it clean so my new insulation would stick better.

So good ole lacquer thinner comes through again, alway good to keep some on hand. My

The 3M adhesive remover I have is in a 1 pint metal container, kinda like what you would buy acetone in at the hardware store. This spray stuff I have never used.
