I have installed a Denso alternator (440, 70 Challenger) and by-passed the ammeter with the charging output of the alt going directly to starter relay stud (added fusible links per earlier post). I ran the blue wire from the column switch (originally to the voltage regulator to the IGN wire input to the alt plug, one of the three wires (on denso plug) is not used (dash light).
My question is on the sensing wire to the alt plug-- should it be 12volt switched (ACC) or can it be 12 volt hot?
I have run it from the hot at the gauges to the alternator to 'sense' what the voltage is at that point, but am concerned about a 'hot' wire connected to this point on the alternator.
Hope this made 'sense'.
Thanks
