Folks,

I've got a 71 dodge monaco. Purely a street car. Or should I say...street boat. haha Anyway, I recently went from an open 2.71 to suregrip clutch style 3.23. I'm having trouble adjusting the endplay. The thrust button is in the diff, but the endplate adjuster no longer threads worth a darn. Randy's ring and pinion now sells the adjuster plate for $115. For about the same price I can get green bearings. I've been told the green bearings are not good for street applications as they don't like much side load during cornering.

So I'm wondering what you folks think? Spend the money on the adjuster plate or green bearings?

Thanks in advance

David

not sure about the clutch type, but are you missing the pin that goes between the axles? or are you using a pre-65 housing that uses different length axles. Both will cause excessive end play
