Believe it or not, I looked at those POS's extensively when Malcom started shipping them. Every single one of them came with a bill of materials of parts MISSING as delivered and would be supplied later. After closely crawling all over them, my only thought was that those VW dune buggy conversion kits were of better quality.
Maybe that's a good thing. Would give you the chance to go over the car and fix all the little things the factory did wrong if you picked up a project one for a decent price. Hell, I find myself doing that on my old mopar.
