Well, I'm certainly no 'expert' on the subject, but it would seem "logical" that since the pulse coming from the MSD module to the number 1 plug would be the same "pulse" you would get from a standard coil, the timing light wouldn't "know" the difference.

I had a 64 Fury some years ago which had the Chrysler elect ign on it and had no problem setting the timing....I don't know why that would be any different than the MSD, as far as the use of a timing light.
