Assuming your working with an 8.75, some guys get donor axles from C-bodies that are the non-tapered variety and have them cut and machined as well. I was going to do this as well but by the time I found/pulled the axles at the yard, boxed them up to ship(pay for shipping) to a machine shop that could do that type of work(pay for the work), waited, and then have to pay shipping back. I said forget it and dropped 300 bones to Dr. Diff and got a set of brand new ones. Or like the other member said, get an 8.25 from another A-body bolt it in and go.
