well i tried pounding on a socket, 12 pt and 6 pt.,that didn't work.i went to sears and bought the wheel lock nut remover socket set.still no luck it appears the nut is hardend. and the fluted end won't grip the nut.i really don't want to weld a nut on on this since it has alumnium wheels.any other ideas?i may try the tire shop idea on my day off.if there any other ideas please post them. thanks for all the repies.

I have had a few stubborn ones, but using a larger has done it in the past. I use like a 10" extension on the socket (to keep the hammer away from the wheel) then use a small sledge to it on, instead of just a normal hammer. Not only does the added weight help to pound the socket down and on, it also helps shock (as mentioned) the lock itself to help loosen it some..
