To my knowledge, it is illegal for a shop to remove sensors from a car that has them. In 2012 all vehicles under 10,000 lbs will have them. Take them out and throw them away, and your car will still drive fine, but a warning light will be on, and in some cases, a dinger will chime also. I don't know of any vehicles that will not function properly without them. More manditory junk for everyone, because some people do not know how to maintain their own vehicles.
