brand is not as much the question as size, in my opinion. Both Holley and Eddy make a great 600 cfm carb, and either would be a great choice. I'd choose a holley #80570: 570cfm street avenger series. A mild street 318 will not need any more than that, and it will run way crisper with better throttle response than with a bigger carb. A 750 on this application is just a classic over-carb. Would the 750 work? sure. but it would be a pig down low. You've got a nice small street performance package, The right carb is one that is in line with that goal.





The OP said it was a street cruiser and a 74 Satellite (big car) with a 318.
The smaller (600) cfm carb is gonna give a whole lot better throttle response.

As for brand choice, it's a toss up as long as it's a new carb. Both have their good and bad points IMO.
