Call me crazy, but a pump just isn't as efficient as a prop. I'm not trying to stir up anyfight here I own one of each and appreciate them both for what they are. BUT, given the same level of HP and a similar length, beam width of the hull the v-drive is worth 5-10 mph more. Yep, there's lots of fast jetters out there, way faster than me, but it's just an opinion, an observation over the years.
