Backlash was right on the money, the pinion depth was off .002.

Took it back apart, added 2 thou and reassembled. Happened to guess right on the amount needed.

Just back from a road test, nice and quiet and the car has a bit more pep.

Needs a cam or that 5.2 magnum I have hanging from the engine hoist =)
